Seminar on Low-temperature Plasma Technology for Resilience of Agricultural Production and Food Systems  9:45-12:30
9:45- Keynote Lectures:
  • One speaker: 45 minutes
    or
  • Two speakers: 25 minutes each
Panel Discussion:
  • Presentations by approx. 4 panelists
  • Discussion among keynote speaker(s) and panelists
(One engineering and one agricultural panelist will be invited from NCSU)
Tour of the Plasma Research Center  14:00-14:50
Research presentation  15:00-17:00
(Option 1: depending on the number of speakers in the research presentation session)
15:00- Research presentation:
  • Oral presentations (including Q&A)
Workshop 1  15:00-17:00
(Option 2: depending on the number of oral presenters)
15:00- Parallel sessions divided into:
  • Engineering domain (1-2 groups)
  • Agricultural domain (1-2 groups)
  • Collaborative/Interdisciplinary domain (1-2 groups)
Each group:
  • Research presentations by approx. 4 persons (mainly young researchers)
    (number of groups to be adjusted according to participants)
  • Discussion on research information sharing and prospects for collaborative research

January 6 (TUE)
Workshop   9:30:-11:40
(Option 1: depending on the number of speakers in the research presentation session)
9:30- Group discussion:
  • Theme: how to promote, encourage, coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration
    (grouping will be decided in advance by the Committee)
General discussion:
Wrap-up:
Workshop 2   9:30-11:40
(Option 2: depending on the number of oral presenters in the workshop 1)
9:30- Reports from each group on Workshop 1 discussions (10 minutes each):
Interdisciplinary Meeting:
  • Group discussions with participants re-shuffled across different domains
  • Theme: how to promote, encourage, coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration
Closing Session   11:45-
11:45- Parallel sessions divided into:
  • Highlights of Workshop 2 discussions
  • Wrap-up

After lunch, international participants will move to RIKEN.
