Improving rice productivity is becoming more important due to the increased global demand for rice. To promote a deeper understanding of high-yielding rice, I will introduce the flooded rice cultivation system in Yunnan, China; where is one of the most high-yielding areas of rice in the world, and explain the crop physiological mechanisms for its high rice yield.
