In Uganda, rice cultivation has been developed in lowland area of eastern districts since 1960s, and upland rice cultivation has been spread out all over the country as NERICA is disseminated. This brought rapid increase of small rice mills in newly expanded areas. The speaker will observe the current situation of rice milling business, and discuss on directions for further development of the rice milling industry. In addition, possibility of agricultural mechanization in Uganda will be considered from the aspect of players in the agricultural machinery industry.
