Prof. Hiroshi Ehara, Director of ICREA spoke at the TICAD9 MAFF Seminar Titled "Fostering the Future Through International Collaborative Research: Young Researchers Engaging with Africa"
The TICAD9 thematic event (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Seminar), "The Future Nurtured by International Collaborative Research: Young Researchers Working Together with Africa," hosted by the Japan International Research Institute for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) and supported by the Japan Agricultural Sciences Intellectual Support Network (JISNAS), was held in a hybrid format on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, at Exhibition Hall D of Pacifico Yokohama. Collaborative research efforts by young researchers from Africa and Japan were introduced, and a panel discussion explored the significance of international collaborative research, its impact on young researchers' careers, learning locally, and global innovation.
Finally, Prof. Hiroshi Ehara, Executive Secretary of JISNAS, emphasized the importance of strong Japan-Africa cooperation and continuous efforts to nurture the next generation of researchers.
